Jakarta (06 February 2024) - PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) continues to improve its sustainability, through concern for environmental, social and governance aspects. The disaster emergency response programme is one form of concern for the community and social aspects. In disaster emergency response, Kalbe distributes products and collaborates with a number of parties to help disseminate aid.
Assistance for the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki on Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara Regency is one of the implementation of disaster emergency response activities held by Kalbe. In collaboration with the Catholic Professionals and Entrepreneurs of the Archdiocese of Jakarta (PUKAT KAJ), Kalbe distributed aid in the form of vitamin products, nutrition and medicines to victims affected by the disaster with a value of more than 199 million Rupiah.
"Kalbe's sustainability commitment, Together Make the Nation Healthy, is our spirit to share, providing access to health throughout the country, including in easing the burden of our brothers and sisters who are affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki," said Abi Nisaka, Kalbe Corporate Sustainability Senior Manager.
Meanwhile, Zeno Christozen, Chairman 2 of PUKAT KAJ said that Kalbe is one of the parties that really helps PUKAT KAJ in providing assistance for the eruption victims. Zeno added that Kalbe has long and several times helped victims of natural disasters with PUKAT KAJ. The distribution of medicines, vitamins, milk and other Kalbe products was carried out by PUKAT KAJ together with the sisters of the Congregation of Puteri Reinha Rosari (PRR) Larantuka, Flores, NTT. "We are very grateful and thankful that Kalbe cares so much for our disaster-stricken brothers and sisters. May Kalbe continue to grow and benefit the people and nation of Indonesia," added Zeno.
Kalbe's relief products were previously handed over to PUKAT KAJ on 31 January 2024, and departed for Flores, NTT on Thursday 02 February 2024. The Kalbe relief products were directly distributed to the affected victims through the Congregation of the Puteri Reinha Rosari (PRR).
Sister Grasiana, PRR as the Leader of the Congregation of the Daughters of Reinha Rosari in Larantuka, whose Sisters around the city of Larantuka also help in the refugee camps of the victims of the Lewotobi Volcano natural disaster, appreciated the donation given by Kalbe in collaboration with PUKAT KAJ. "Many thanks for the collaboration between PUKAT KAJ and Kalbe that supports our ministry, with the donation of medicines, vitamins, milk, and other products that will be very useful for health services in the refugee camps and in the surrounding villages affected by the disaster," concluded Sister Grasiana.
