Ngada, East Nusa Tenggara, 04 September 2026 – PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe), in collaboration with the Indonesian Air Force Territorial Centre (Pusterau), Wiby Foundation, the Community Social Workers Association (Ikatan Pekerja Sosial Masyarakat / IPSM), and the Institut Media Digital Emtek (IMDE), has launched an emergency response initiative to support communities affected by the recent earthquake in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
The humanitarian effort covers Ngada and Nagekeo Regencies, specifically the areas of Bajawa, Maronggela, Riung, and Nggolonio. The programme aims to reach approximately 10,000 residents impacted by the disaster.
As part of the initiative, Kalbe distributed 1.45 tonnes of healthcare assistance, including vaccines, medicines, vitamins, nutritional products, and medical devices. The company also supported medical treatment services and vaccination programmes for affected communities.
The relief effort received support from the Ngada District Health Office and the local Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (Loka POM), helping to ensure the proper distribution and utilisation of healthcare products.
The assistance was provided amid ongoing seismic activity in Flores following the major earthquake that struck the region on 15 August 2026. The disaster caused widespread damage across several regencies in East Nusa Tenggara, resulting in casualties, displacement of residents, and significant damage to homes and public facilities.
Abi Nisaka, Head of Corporate Sustainability at Kalbe, stated that the initiative reflects the company's commitment to expanding access to healthcare services, particularly during times of crisis.
"Kalbe remains committed to expanding access to healthcare for communities across Indonesia. We hope this donation will help ease the burden faced by our brothers and sisters affected by the earthquake," said Abi.
He added that the company's presence in disaster-affected areas aligns with Kalbe's mission of "Improving Health for a Better Life."
"Our support in disaster-affected communities demonstrates our belief that health must remain a top priority, especially during challenging circumstances caused by natural disasters," he added.
Abi also highlighted the importance of collaboration with local stakeholders to ensure that aid reaches those most in need.
"We are working closely with the Ngada District Health Office and the local Loka POM to ensure the assistance is delivered effectively and reaches the intended beneficiaries," he said.
Meanwhile, SFD Arie Wibowo, Corporate Sustainability Assistant Manager at Kalbe, noted that the company's support for communities in East Nusa Tenggara is part of an ongoing commitment.
"This is not Kalbe's first initiative in NTT. In 2025, we conducted health screening programmes in Ngada Regency as part of the Merajut Nusantara Thematic Community Service Programme," Arie explained.
He also expressed appreciation to the organisations involved in the emergency response effort.
"We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Pusterau, Wiby Foundation, IPSM, IMDE, and all stakeholders who have contributed to this collaborative effort. Their support has enabled assistance to reach communities in need," he said.
Head of Pusterau Marsma TNI Ignatius Wahyu Anggono also welcomed the collaboration.

Through this initiative, Kalbe aims to support community recovery efforts while ensuring continued access to essential healthcare services for residents affected by the disaster.
