Wonogiri, 7 January 2025 – PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) has once again received recognition from the Wonogiri Regency Government for its efforts in supporting food security and environmental sustainability.
The award was presented by Wonogiri Regent Setyo Sukarno to SFD Arie Wibowo, Kalbe Corporate Sustainability Assistant Manager, at the Regent's Official Residence in Wonogiri, Central Java.
“The Wonogiri Government appreciates the ongoing contribution and collaboration with Kalbe Farma. We see that the programmes initiated by Kalbe provide benefits to the community, both economically, socially and environmentally,” explained Setyo Sukarno.
Furthermore, Setyo emphasised the importance of preserving the environment, which also supports improving the quality of life of the community.
‘The ongoing collaboration with Kalbe Farma, particularly in food security and environmental sustainability, is a concrete example of how CSR programmes are not only a responsibility but also improve the quality of life,’ said Setyo.
Head of Corporate Sustainability at Kalbe, Abi Nisaka, emphasised Kalbe's commitment to improving the nation's health, which includes caring for the community's environment.
‘Improving Health for a Better Life is not just a vision displayed in words, but is continuously demonstrated in Kalbe's sustainability efforts. A healthy community also requires a healthy environment. This is the foundation of Kalbe's sustainability programme, particularly in Wonogiri,’ said Abi.
Tree Planting in Wonogiri
Kalbe carried out a tree planting programme at more than 10 locations in Baturetno Subdistrict. A variety of trees were planted, including fruit trees and shade trees.
‘We continue to raise awareness among the community, especially in Baturetno District, to continue protecting the environment in order to avoid disasters that are detrimental to life. Furthermore, the tree planting programme can boost the community's economy through leading commodities. In addition to protecting the environment, this programme also increases the community's economic independence,’ explained SFD Arie Wibowo, Kalbe Corporate Sustainability Assistant Manager.
